The Atiamah Trust focuses on the Upper East Region of Ghana. This area is 6,400 square miles, or 7% of the total land mass of Ghana. The population of this area in 2010 was just over 1,000,000. The only transport is by bus; there are no trains or planes, and the nearest airport is at Tamale. The major arterial roads are tarmaced, albeit of variable quality. Off these roads are stone/dirt tracks which deteriorate into dirt paths. Click HERE to learn about the little girl called Atiamah and how the Trust was established in her memory.
